ABOUT HARVARD FORWARD
Harvard Forward is a coalition of alumni, students, and faculty seeking to address both the symptoms and the causes of Harvard's insufficient response to the climate crisis.
We are working to elect 3 recent alumni to the Board of Overseers to help Harvard face the crises of the moment and the challenges of the 21st century.
WHERE WE STARTED
Harvard Forward emerged from widespread frustration that Harvard is falling behind in its response to the climate crisis when its affiliates have repeatedly called on the University to demonstrate leadership in the fight against climate change. Looking at the bigger picture, we noticed that the University is out of step with the people it is meant to serve because its governance structure excludes necessary perspectives. We want to change that.
WHO WE ARE
We are a coalition of alumni, students, and faculty from all Harvard schools and a broad range of Harvard eras. What unites us is a sense of duty to hold the University to a higher standard, a desire to see Harvard become an indisputable leader in combating the climate crisis, and a conviction that more inclusive governance structures will benefit the institution and all of its affiliates. Anyone fighting to make Harvard a better place is our ally.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
To expand the reach of Harvard Forward, our organizers founded The Boarding School, a non-profit organization with the mission of recruiting and training young people to serve on boards of organizations that directly impact their lives. The future holds exciting new possibilities to encourage more and more people to make their voices heard. We've already launched Yale Forward— tell all the Yalies you know!
OUR TEAM
Harvard Forward was founded by recent alumni who want to see Harvard step up into a role of leadership to confront the many challenges we face. Our movement has grown to include volunteers from across Harvard schools and across the decades.
